New boiler feedwater treatment plant utilizes all Dow Chemical products

Los Angeles and Dallas –OriginClear Inc. (OTC/QB: OOIL), a leading provider of water treatment solutions, today announced that Minnesota-based public utility, Xcel Energy (NYSE:XEL), awarded the company’s subsidiary, Progressive Water Treatment Inc. (PWT) a large-scale contract for a boiler feedwater treatment system.

The contract totals nearly two million dollars and uniquely utilizes all Dow Chemical (NYSE:DOW) products, including Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Electrodeionization (EDI) processes.

“We’ve found that our happy customers are also repeat customers. Xcel Energy is a longtime client of Progressive Water Treatment,” said Marc Stevens, PWT’s President. “This new contract is for one of Xcel’s power plants in Texas. The nearly $2 million project involves treating a site groundwater source for high pressure boiler feed make-up. The primary processes that will be used to treat the ground water are UF, RO and EDI, all sourced from Dow Chemical.”

Dow Chemical’s Senior Account Manager, Tom McCandless, stated, “Dow and Progressive Water Treatment have partnered to develop several treatment systems over the past 12 years. PWT was the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in North America to design and build a system using 100 percent Dow UF, RO and EDI products. We’re addressing industry standards for better quality and reliability and we’re looking forward to serve as the supplier on this new contract.”

“We believe this contract, and numerous others like it, validates OriginClear’s decision to acquire Progressive Water Treatment,” stated Bill Charneski, President of the OriginClear Group™. “Our strategy, to build a group of water treatment service companies that serve all water-intensive industries and regions, is well underway. We intend to complete our second water services acquisition this year and we are in discussion with several other companies.”

Global Water Intelligence recently stated, “With regulations relating to wastewater treatment and discharge growing ever-more stringent and the cost of sourcing water continually rising, operators of industrial plants are seeking full water management services to provide cost-effective solutions that maximize water and energy efficiency, allowing them to focus on their core production businesses.”
