Progressive Water Treatment Completes Third Major Power Plant Project in 2016

January 17, 2017

OriginClear subsidiary installed $2 million boiler feedwater system for major public utility

Los Angeles and Dallas – OriginClear Inc. (OTC/QB: OCLN), a leading provider of water treatment solutions, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Dallas-based Progressive Water Treatment Inc. (PWT), recently completed the installation and startup of a $2 million boiler feedwater system for a power plant operated by a major Midwestern public utility. The project utilized all Dow Chemical (NYSE:DOW) products.

This is the third large power plant project that PWT designed, built, installed and successfully started up in 2016, bringing the total such orders to approximately $3.5 million for the year. The assignment was to replace an aging water treatment system dating back to the 80s, and has doubled plant capacity.

“Dow and Progressive Water Treatment have partnered to develop several treatment systems over the past 12 years,” said Dow Chemical’s Senior Account Manager, Tom McCandless. “PWT was the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in North America to design and build a system using 100 percent Dow products. We’re addressing industry standards for better quality and reliability and we’re looking forward to serving as the supplier on this new contract.”

“PWT has built an excellent reputation over the twenty plus years of serving the water treatment industry with its design and build systems. We count several large public utilities among our longtime clients,” said Marc Stevens, PWT’s President. “This project was installed in one of our client’s power plants in the South, and treats an onsite groundwater source for high pressure boiler feedwater. The primary processes to treat the ground water are Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis and Electrodeionization, all sourced from Dow Chemical.”

“The acquisition of Progressive Water Treatment, just over a year ago, has more than fulfilled our expectations,” stated Bill Charneski, President of the OriginClear Group™. “We continue in our strategy to build a group of water treatment service companies that provide all market applications with all water treatment technologies. OriginClear intends to become the United States of Water.”
